Introducing Artful Wisdom LLC — a start-up company formed to publish the self-taught art of Marjory Hawkins. We’re working on a number of offerings, so subscribe to stay in the loop for new products . . . Those of you in the Austin, Texas area, look for Hawkins’ first book of art at Austin’s iconic independent bookstore, Book People. Softcover copies are available in the Gift Book section on the first floor and the Affirmations section on the second floor. Each Christmas, I try to give family members something they want; something they need; something to wear; and something to read. One of my nephews detests reading and would rather SnapChat than read a book.
Therefore, last Christmas, I created Artful Wisdom for him. It was chock full of profound, obvious, and clever quotes from the famous and not-so-famous. Each quote was illustrated by my “self-taught” art, which is colorful and full of energy. He got a kick out of it and I think he read every page! So, I published it in hopes others might enjoy it as well..
