Most significant among them are:\u00a0<em>The Lines of Life<\/em>\u00a0(Linije \u017eivota) in 1993 (winner of &#8220;Milo\u0161 Crnjanski&#8221; Award and &#8220;Giorgio la Pira&#8221;, Italy),\u00a0<em>The Invisible<\/em>\u00a0(Nevidljivi) in 2008 (winner of \u201dStevan Sremac\u201d Award), and\u00a0<em>The Great War<\/em>\u00a0(NIN award, \u201dMe\u0161a Selimovi\u0107\u201d Award, National Library of Serbia Award, best selling book in 2013 in Serbia).\u00a0He has also published five story cycles, including:\u00a0<em>Mimicries<\/em>\u00a0(Mimikrije) in 1996, and\u00a0<em>Century, One Hundred and One Histories of a Century<\/em>\u00a0(Vek, sto jedna povest jednog veka) winner of the prestigous &#8220;Ivo Andri\u0107&#8221; Award in 1999.<\/p><p>As a translator of\u00a0Ancient Greek, Gatalica has published translations of Aeschylus&#8217;\u00a0<em>Prometheus Bound<\/em>, Sophocle&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Oedipus the King<\/em>\u00a0and, for the first time into Serbian, the following plays by Euripides:\u00a0<em>Alcestis, Iphigenia at Aulis<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>The Bacchae<\/em>, as well as the last play by Sophocles:\u00a0<em>Oedipus at Colonus<\/em>. Aleksandar Gatalica is also active as a musician critic and writer. He has commented\u00a0on music for severals radio programs\u00a0and a Serbian daily newspaper.
