Novel:\u00a0<\/strong>The Aziz Bey Incident<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>

Story writer and novelist Ayfer Tun\u00e7 – is one of the most respected and widely read authors in Turkish literature – broke onto the literary scene with her first short story book,\u00a0The Yore Hotel<\/em>, which was highly praised by both the literary circles and readers. She started working as a journalist in 1989 and then as Editor-in-Chief at Yap\u0131 Kredi Publishing House between 1999-2004. Apart from her novels, she has also written many screenplays. Tun\u00e7\u2019s work is concerned with virtues of being a lonely city dweller and a human being, with deep insight into the tribulations of living in contemporary Turkey. With her book\u00a0My Parents Will Visit You If You Don\u2019t Mind: Our Life<\/em>, she won the international Balkanika Literary Award in 2003. The same year her screenplay\u00a0Cloud in the Sky,<\/em>\u00a0inspired by Sait Faik\u2019s short stories, was filmed and televised. The book was translated into six Balkan languages, along with the collection,\u00a0The Aziz Bey Incident<\/em><\/a>. The novels\u00a0The Night of the Green Fairy\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0The Highly Unreliable Account of the History of a Madhouse<\/em><\/a>\u00a0remain her bestsellers. She has also co-authored a non-fiction study named\u00a0Two Faced Sexuality<\/em>\u00a0with Oya Ayman.<\/p>
